Notes on some species described in the genus Hister L. (Coleoptera: Histeridae).

Taxonomic and systematic status of some Hister-species is discussed. Macrolister debellatus has been synonimized with Barbarus barbarus and transferred to the genus Barbarus. Some new synonymies have been established: Hister obesus and H. fossor suturifer with H. fossor, Hister latobius with H. colensoi and H. striatisternus and H. pharaonis with H. schimperi. Lecto- and paralectotypes for some species are designated.
