Additional knowledge on the distribution of longhorn beetles (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) in the Philippines

Abstract

In this paper, new faunistic data of one hundred nineteen (119) species belonging to fifty-four (54) genera under nineteen (19) tribes from the subfamilies cerambycinae and lamiinae (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) from the Philippines is presented. Fourteen (14) species were documented for the first time after description, of sixteen (16) species were recorded for the first time in various islands in the Philippines: Babuyan Isl., Luzon Isl., Marinduque Isl., Mindoro Isl., Palawan Isl., Samar Isl., Panay Isl., Leyte Isl., Negros Isl., and Mindanao Isl., and two new species Pheliphara sabahensis Huedepohl, 1995 and Niphona (Niphona) plagifera (Aurivillius, 1924) were added to the Philippine fauna.
