Abstract
In the comparative study of site abundance, the ecosystems may be classified using a new zooindication method. The index of community abundance [BRC] as proposed in this paper has been based on epigeic staphylinid communities. The application of the method in the valorization of the Bialowieza Primeval forest enabled the construction of a scale of forest sites abundance as determined by the index [BRC']; the scale proved useful in the comparative study on fertility, stability and degradation progress of forest complexes in the whole of Poland's Lowland.
