Abstract
In the present article Elater ferrugineus L. is reported in the fauna of Latvia for the first time; it has been collected in the North East of Latvia in the nature reserve Pededze Valley in the hollow of an old oak tree using Osmoderma pheromone traps with pheromone (R)-(+)-gammadecalactone, which in the case of E. ferrugineus L. often functions as a kairomone. The article presents a brief characteristic of the morphology of the specimen collected, the description of the research area where the species has been collected, as well as the description of the methodology of collecting this species.
