Rare beetle species caught on tree stems in the Bialowieza Primeval Forest

Abstrakt
A total of 36 colar-type traps have been installed in the Bialowieza Primeval Forest in year 2000. Six traps were installed on spruce trees, six on pines, 24 traps were installed on leaf trees (two on each species: oak, hornbeam, lime, birch, birch, ash and alder). During the catching period (May - October) a total 1619 specimens were collected, belonging to 47 families and 228 species. The highest number of rare species have been found in the alder-type sites of Bialowieza Primeval Forest and Hajnowka Forest District.
