                Abstract

The present paper is a biogeographic review of data on Carabidae (Col.) from 12 Polish national parks where this taxon has been investigated more thoroughly. The papers which describe the results of these studies list a total of 245 carabid species, which are here classified into seven biogeographic elements (Lesniak 1987). The following biogeographic elements are shown to be the most numerous among Carabidae: Palaearctic, montane of the European forest province and Eurosiberian. Similarity between the parks with respect to percentage contributions of individual biogeographic elements is also determined.
