Abstract
The genus Cryptorhopalum Guérin-Méneville, 1838 from the Neotropical region is reviewed. The 12 species described by Sharp are studied, and lectotypes designated for 10 species. New faunistic records are presented for: Cryptorhopalum discedens Sharp, 1902 (Mexico: Tamaulipas); Cryptorhopalum germanum Sharp, 1902 (Mexico: Oaxaca); Cryptorhopalum gravidum Sharp, 1902 (Mexico: Puebla); Cryptorhopalum ventanense Sharp, 1902 (Mexico: Vera Cruz); Cryptorhopalum vicinum Sharp, 1902 (Mexico: México). A new synonym are proposed: Cryptorhopalum germanum Sharp, 1902 (= Cryptorhopalum argutum Sharp, 1902 n. syn.).
